What is the best HS wrestling program in Virginia, and why do you think it is?
I would suggest win totals are not enough. There are other factors. How many kids does the school draw from? Coaches? Character builders? Sportsmanship? Success after HS?

I'm thinking a better choice would be most consistent program. I would start with Christainsburg mostly because of their dominance the last decade or so and the number of kids they have that are competing successfully at the next level. VA Tech may have as many as 3 former Christainsburg kids in their starting line-up this year.
I beleive Colonial Forge belongs there as well. They have more challenges than Cburg due to competing at a higher division, but they are also consistent and even "down" teams wrestle well. I've watched their kids and they are all well coached, something you don't always see. Robinson has had a resurgance recently and they're kids are also well coached. Those 3 teams I would list in the top tier
Next would be Matoaca, Hanover and St. Chris(prep) and a few Beach teams.
I think the criteria needs to be a combination of success, sportsmanship, post hs, support, and schedule. Winning is nice, but if you're not competing against anyone what does it matter. Most teams listed here seek out good competition and it shows at the end of the year.

I agree with Eiwaman...those to me are the top 3 public teams in Virginia. I guess if you want to break it down you could go...
6a - Forge, Robinson 5a - Matoaca, Mountain View 4a - Hanover 3a - Cburg
After that not sure some Honorable Mentions VA Teams in my opinion I like to see at the tournament when I am watching (Coached/Represent Well)- (Fauquier, Westfield, GreatBridge, Forest Park, Skyline, Lake Braddock and Osborn Park)
Not sure what has happened to Cox. 4 years ago very strong and then fell off the map a little. I am assuming GreatBridge and possibly Ocean Lakes have hurt them a little here.
