If Battlefield beat Colonial Forge in a dual how do you justify the 1/2 ranking?

Kibler and Lough will be back soon. I also evaluated them using the individual rankings and the most simple formula known to man.
So with that, what do you think? Should I account for Lough and Kibler, and the fact that the meet was decided on criteria?
Any other head-to-heads that dictate a different order?

Oscar Smith is not that good, and I think Hickory is overrated. I live in the (757) and have seen some sub par teams compete within 1 or 2 matche sof both Hickory and Oscar Smith, Great Bridge "B" Team came close to beating them. About a week ago I went to Nansemond River HS and watched the Toys for Tots Tournament. The team that I don't even see mentioned even as a bubble team is Eastern View, I can tell you that they are a true legitimate team. You can rank how you want and I have no dog in the fight but I'm just telling you from my observations. Go to track wrestling and look up the results of that tournament, I think you will be surprised.

Since Colonial Forge beat and Battlefield today at the Battlefield Duals after beating them by 40 points at the Skyline Elite Opener maybe you should ask TD2Back's permission to put CF over Battlefield again or does the Criteria win prior to Skyline and Battlefield still carry alot of weight?

I think it is natural to want to see the giant "slayed." I can also appreciate the win by Battlefield, it was a head-to-head win, which is much more pure than a tournament point win. Battlefield is a great team, and quite frankly, all we have in VA right now to challenge Forge. With that said, the re-match occurred (without Nail or Lough) and Forge won.
I just think that Forge, like it or not, is the best team in VA again. I personally, not in anyway associated with how I rank them, wish we had a new champion, only for the sake of competition, but they are due the respect that they have earned. They once again appear to be the best in VA, but Battlefield has made it competitive.

The Battlefield Duals was a great event. The competition was excellent. The dual between Battlefield and Christiansburg was great, but the battle between Colonial Forge and Battlefield was epic. The crowd going wild with the completion of each bout lit up the gym. Thumbs up too Bill Swink and his staff for putting on another great event.

How do the teams project, scoring-wise, for the state tournament? How many kids does each team get out of their respective regions (remember, BF is North, CF is South)? Anyone got predictions?

Don't forget Battlefield and Forge could meet again at the VA Duals. Colonial Forge is the 2 seed and Battlefield the 3.

I'm glad to see Hickory so highly ranked. They have a very tough dual meet team that few teams in the state will be able to compete with; I don't see another team in 5a that will be able to come close in the state tournament. Hickory also just had a huge win over Hanover 52-15 at the Hanover Duals this past weekend. They only lost 3 starters and they have 7 returning starting seniors for this season. At the middle weights they have Connor Wallace (who I'd love to see have a match against Marshall Keller), Tony Amendolare (would come close to Josh Wyland considering Wallace beat Wyland 3-2 last season), Caleb Corbett (probably not going to defeat DuPont), Nick Tibbetts, and Eric Gamboni (defeated Tyrone Gayle in regionals). Overall I see few teams beating them this season because they have the right kids at the right weights. Also, just curious, have Wallace and Keller ever had a head-to-head face off? If so, how close was the score? Thanks!

It looks like there will be quite the shake up once all the results from the VA Duals come in. Grundy beating Hickory 34-28, Grassfield over Oscar Smith 35-25.Eastern View with 2 quality wins over Camden Catholic and Haddonfield should be interesting.

Warren County beat Brentsville 42-29 today. Their only loss this year was to a tough Eastern View team 33-30
