Is this going to be one of the weaker Forge teams in a while? Seems like they lost an awful lot of talent the last two years.

Don't think so... Forge is deep and still has alot of returning talent...

Didn't say they were not deep or had some returning talent, just don't see a line up with the talent of Reck, Hayes, Martinez, Murphy, Neis, etc.
They took a bit of a dip last year, but I think this year will be the worst in at least 3 years.

Better? Other than being in a smaller class, not seeing that. I see Nail, Hunziker, and Stone. Grayson is pretty good. The rest are decent wrestlers, but not the top 5 kind of wrestlers that Forge has been used to, but again, with a smaller class to compete in, they may still do well.

Excellent points CW Watcher. My sources tell me they are in so lacking in talent and are in so much trouble they may shut down the Forge wrestling program and plan on turning the wrestling room into some kind of pottery workshop.
Whatever will they do at poor CFHS. They only have 3 returning state place winners(Nail, Stone and Grayson), 3 other kids(Harris and the Carter brothers) who won a match at last year's AAA state tournament and 2 other kids who beat multiple state placers last year(Brodie and Hunziker). Most of the teams in Virginia return alot more talent than that, so its probably time to turn the lights off on a once proud programs. We all know they have never reloaded or come back strong after heavy graduation losses.

Its so bad over at Forge right now that I guarantee that their 13 year Commonwealth District Tournament Streak and 12 year Northwestern Regional Tournament Streak won't continue this year. They won't win either tourney this year.

You could be an actress with that flair for drama. And before you get emotional, I never said that they were going to lose all their matches, end the program, or all transfer to another school.
I just said that, like last year, I see them as weaker than previous years. The total package of talent and the level of that talent is not what it was in 2011. Westfield and Robinson finished higher, and I have no doubt Robinson is clearly the favorite over them this year. The good news is that without Matoaca in 6A, they could still finish in the top two. I just don't think it will happen.

When you mentioned Matoaca as being a threat to Forge if they were in 6A, all your credibility went out the window.

I am not sure how that makes any sense, but since I support the Special Olympics, I will continue to encourage your feedback and opinions.

Why don't you think they will finish in the top 2? Please tell us all the teams you think are going to finish ahead of Forge in 6A.
Robinson is the clear favorite and should be the best team in any classification. After Robinson who else do you see finishing ahead of Forge at states?
What do base your claim that they have less talent than they did in 2011? You do know that for the 2013-2014 season they have as many returning state placewinners as they did going into the 2011 season. They also actually have more returning state qualifiers this year than they did going into 2011.
History lesson for you. In 2006 they did not return a single state place winner from the 2005 state runner-up team and they finished 4th in the state that year. In 2010 they replaced 10 starters from the 2009 state championship team and still finished 6th in the state 7 points out of 3rd place and had dual meet wins over a number of teams that finished ahead of them. Since the 2000-2001 season they have only finished worse than 4th at states twice and that was 6th both times.
They return 8 starters, six of whom won at least a match at states last year. They also return a JV kid that beat 3 state place winners last year. Most teams would love to be in that kind of trouble.

They also return several starters from the Blue Team that all finished over .500 for the season wrestling a full varsity schedule. I would love to have this problem. Let's not forget, Forge was missing 2 starters (Sinnott,Hunzinker)from the State Tournament. Also Stone didn't finish the tournament due to injury.
