Three outstanding programs - who is the best in 2015-16 and why? Can ODU overtake UVA and VT?
George Mason - 4th best in VA? What do they need to do to take it to the next level?

Sadly, it looks like VT is the dominant program. VA is the better school, but VT owns the sports scene.

On Paper it has to be VA Tech. They have 9 returning qualifiers and at 3 returning All Americans. They also have had some great recruiting classes to add depth so they would get the #1 nod in VA. #2 is not that easy but I would learn towards ODU. They have 3 returning All Americans and 4 total returning qualifiers. While not as deep they could still be a tough team to beat. That would put UVA in the 3rd position with 4 returning qualifiers. Now this is only based on what I see on paper since there may be some unknown stars that emerge during the year.

From the looks of the early part of this season - Hokies are easily the best team in VA.
VA looks like they dropped a notch.
ODU has a couple studs that could go deep, but not a lot of quality up and down the line-up.
George Mason, they travel a lot, but still need to attract some of the best in-state studs.
Pound for pound, I like the direction Ferrum is going in. They seem to keep getting better every year.

ODU (based on Midlands) getting better?

It's difficult to get a read as the Midlands, while still a very tough tournament, has seen a slight drop. A lot of teams have rotated to the Scuffle or are taking those days off. VA Tech skipped the Midlands this year, as did Illinois and Edinboro; UVA, Cornell, Minn, Oklahoma St., and Penn State are at the scuffle.
ODU, Tech, and Mason are at the VA Duals so that may also help clear things up a bit.
