Any insight to the issue(s) that occurred at the Midnight Bash this weekend?
It has been alleged that:
1. A wrestler from Impact did something that was unsportsmanlike and apologized. 2. The Powerhouse kids (and maybe parents) were talking trash or crossing the lines of good sportsmanship. 3. There was punch-throwing at a previous Midnight Bash blow-up.
I think it is important because of what I believe is the declining level of sportsmanship shown in wrestling. There is nothing worse than a wrestler that disrespects, clowns, or taunts his opponent, and I hate seeing a disrespectful winner even more than a sore loser. Every wrestler needs to learn to compete, win, and lose with dignity, respect, class, and character. It should be expected and demanded by EVERY coach. The sport is bigger than any wrestler, and we need to uphold it's core values with no room for exceptions.

Midnight Bash Gone Wild??? Sounds like you are trying to instigate the whole matter. A wrestler lost, acted like an ass and nothing else. Seen it at almost any off-season tourney as well as many in season tourney's. Should it happen... no, but it does. Nothing nobody hasn't seen before! Gone Wild??? Just silly to post those words!
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.**** I learned from mainstream media that the headlines make the story, however, your point was noted. It was a little too sensationalized, and while I won't change it, I will wear the silly cap as a consequence.
So you were in attendance and witnessed it?
Did the Powerhouse crowd or winning wrestler taunt, trash talk, or rub it in or was it simply a matter of a losing wrestler letting his emotions get the best of him?
Thank you, Admin

Taunting from the winning team... yes. However still no excuse for the wrestler to lose control of his emotions like he did. Especially a Sr who is on his way to college. Gotta learn to control emotions cause I know his college coach will not allow him to be on the team if he acts that way.
And I will let you wear the silly cap! LMAO

This is nothing new from the kid, or his family. I have seen them act worse. They have some sort of complex where they think they are better than everyone else. They place blame, when they lose, on everyone around them, but never themselves. Everyone else is always to blame for their shortcomings. From what I hear, they have treated their own school coaches the same. RESPECT...their entire family needs to learn the true meaning of the word, how to earn it and how to use it.
And yes, I know kids lose their tempers in wrestling. However, when the same kids do it over and over, it isn't just a case of emotions getting the best of you. Someone just never taught you how to be a good sport....win or lose. Looks like the family needs some educating. Just my observation, but I am sticking to it.

Not defending the kid BUT if you have seen it 100 times and this is what he does, why be surprised. After I've seen something that many times I typically stop watching cause it doesn't shock me. He will learn the hard way in college when he never steps on the mat cause of his attitude. All actions have re-actions and I'm sure it will be address by his college coach.

Can we get past the mystery and identify the wrestlers involved. I understand Tom Kibler's kid from Powerhouse was one of the wrestlers, the winner of the match if I understand correctly. Who was the other wrestler? What weight class? We could wait for the results from MMB to come out, but can we just get it out there?
I definitely would not defend the behavior of anyone that was guilty of poor sportsmanship. That includes the parents, club supporters, coaches, and/or wrestlers. I get the feeling there may have been several individuals that displayed less than stellar sportsmanship in the situation, on both side of the coin.

Why is a man going into college, in two weeks or so, wrestling with high school kids anyway? Most college freshmen are wrestling college guys or coaches. If it was him celebrating a victory over a high schooler, than he needs to look at himself.

Actually, he lost to the high school kid, by pin if I recall correctly. And I agree...why is a graduate still competing against high school kids? Most young men intending on wrestling in college are already working out with their college teammates, entering open (college level) tournaments or already off to school. What good does it do to wrestle with high school kids? Although, I guess with the high school kid winning, maybe a re-evaluation should take place for this guy. He certainly didn't behave like he was ready for college wrestling, mentally.
Although, to defend the young man, it looked like he was taking the lead from his father. Maybe the father should parent his son a little better about sportsmanship. Or, maybe the father should take a class or two on proper parenting and sports behavior, because it looked like he wasn't the best "role model" for even his own son.
And I have seen people on here saying they have seen this before...if you have...I hope you reported it. If we let people like this continue to demonstrate immature, rude behavior like this without reporting it, we aren't doing anything to better the sport. The only thing I have seen is people like this being allowed to get away with behavior like that for too long. Use your voice to get them some help, or get them away from the sport we love.

On a positive note, who pinned the grad senior? The high schooler who pinned him should get kudos because the grad senior was a state placer last year......i think. Can anyone help?

Everyone makes mistakes. The kid and his father both apologized to the Powerhouse coach before leaving. A lot of people made mistakes in this situation on both sides. Coming on this board with an alias and bashing a kid is also bad sportsmanship.

On a positive side, who was the stud wrestler that pinned the graduate senior? That's impressive because I believe the senior was a state placer. Anyone know?

Trevor Watkins was the mountain view wrestler who won the match. He was also oblivious to the situation that was happening. The other wrestler involved just lost his cool because he lost his match.
