Again stop hiding behind your computer, and prove your point by listing facts to your accusation. Start with the name of the Coach and school that tried to recruit your kid. Then and only then will anyone listen to your baseless point of view.

Poor baby....am I hitting a nerve because I'm so close to home? Now why would I post my son's name on a public forum? That's a classless act that you may follow. I've coached in Northern VA and spoke to many coaches about the subject. It's funny how a few schools' names always seem to come up in the conversation.

My point has been proven, this is how I know you are joke. Tell me where in the message above did I ask you as a parent to post anything about your kids name. I'm done responding to your post, you have proven facts don't matter.

Why is the focus always on Forge... Why not look at Robinson, Westfield or even Mountainview..

OK, I'll bite here. I have to agree with an earlier post. What parent wouldn't try to have his or her kid wrestle for a great program at a great school? Forget wrestling. When we moved to the area a few years ago from out of state we looked at the schools and academics. Forge was listed as a solid school. Add a Coach like Swink to the mix and you don't have to recruit. Folks come to you. Enough said there. As far as coaching young men, from what I've seen the coaches at Forge seem to be concerned with all of the right things. Instilling a work ethic, character building, teamwork, and all of the great things that come with the best sport around. I'm glad my son is wrestling at Forge. No need to be critical of anyone else, and huge kudos to anyone who has the guts to wrestle. I think what Forge has is a bunch of folks who really love the sport, and only want to see good things for Virginia wrestling.

Agreed. There are some elite PROGRAMS (SYSTEMS) in VA. I say that because it seems people tend to overlook what a wrestling program is. It is a plan of action for developing and taking something(s), in this case wrestlers, from one state of being to another following some kind of orderly schedule and/or strategy.
Colonial Forge does this. They take wrestlers, many times already talented wrestlers, and develop them into better wrestlers. There are other good programs in the state, some who may do more with less (or more sometimes).
To name a few currently.....
Christiansburg Matoaca St. Christopher's Westfield Poqouson Eastern View Fauquier
So let's not criticize a program doing a good job at what it should be doing, let's encourage others to get on the ball.
