To WHY, WHY, WHY and Fan;
I am unclear as to the reason for your negativity. I was merely responding to the request by the admin, who by the way your classless posts do nothing but insult, by providing public information. I would think if you were truly fans, you would be more respectful of the effort and time he puts in to creating these posts. You clearly read the forum and the posts so, I would think that you would appreciate a more accurate reflection of Va HS wrestling. The rankings do provide some level of recognition of those kids in our state to be known to the fans who love and follow the sport.
For the record, I am not a parent or coach of either of the two kids I suggested. I do happen to follow Westfield Wrestling more closely as I am familiar with a number of the kids who wrestle there but I have no "dog in the fight." I am a fan who is trying to help out another person who provides a voluntary service that helps promote wrestling and offers a forum for conversation and discussion.

I am so sorry for my post. It was merely an attempt to be funny. I realize now that it was a very feeble attempt and I will give up comedy forever. I thought surely that everyone would get it. I didn't use any names, not even for my son who beat the kid who beat the kid. I truly respect whoever is doing these rankings and couldn't even begin to do the job he is doing. I commend you admin for a job well done. Please accept my humble apology. For the record I never meant any harm and didn't even realize that someone would think that I was making a reference to any certain wrestler. I can only hope that whoever has commented on this and thought it was a negative, that you too can accept my apology. I could have just let it go and just chalked it up to "whatever" but I want to set the record straight so I can at least know in my mind that I tried to do the right thing by apologizing for my attempt at comedy. I realize these kids do deserve to be recognized for a job well done. Again, my sincere apologies to all who I offended. So now that I clarified, could you all please go back and read it on a different level and add to it to see what I could have done to make it more funny. Maybe my son could have had his period that day? **** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
LOL. Wasn't too bad and parts of it were funny, but I am a bit sarcastic myself. Thank you, Admin

Why is it that 132 has about half the wrestlers that 106 and 113 have?
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
106 and 113 have a combination of newcomers and existing placers returning. Most weight classes have a higher number of seniors. 106 and 113 is dominated by frosh/sophs. So between returning placers and rising 8th graders, they go over the ideal "top 10" I am shooting for. Reasonable?

Dylan sieng from park view, he's cutting down to 106 **** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
Thank you, Admin Isn't Dylan Sieng a senior who never made it out of the regional tournament as a freshman, sophomore, and junior? If so, why should he be ranked as one of the top 10 in the state? **** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
Agreed. He currently doesn't warrant a top 10 ranking, but I always appreciate feedback. I hope he cracks the top 10.

Trent ragland kade Saunders and David taylor of new kent along with mason Woodall and Marco mason from colonial forge are ones to watch for
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
Most of the mentioned are on a short-list of guys that are on the bubble. I will eventually need to post the honorable mention. I always hope wrestlers not listed in the top 10 prove me wrong.

Where is Gage Levine from Christiansburg? He has been turning some heads in the pre-season. Also, where is John Reed? I know he has beaten some of the guys on this list.
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
Agreed. Could you cite some head-to-head result and tournament finishes.
Thank you, Admin

Gage Levine is from Christiansburg, he is a sophomore this year. I went to school with his dad in Roanoke @ William Fleming. Gage is a tireless worker always striving to improve. More importantly than that he is a great young man.
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
I am filtering through recent results - he is no doubt a standout wrestler, and I am even happier to hear he has standout character.

Mason Woodall just finished 4th at the Stafford Stampede, lost to Ice in a close match 4-3. Marco Mason finished 1st at Stafford Stampede wrestling up at 170. M. Mason beat Trent Ragland and David Taylor at the Midnight bash dual event. Trent Ragland beat Clifford Harrison at Fall Qualifier

I agree with the question abour Gage Levine but I'm also curious as to why Creed Lumpp from Christiansburg is still in the rankings at 145. He won the 152 class at Stafford by pinning Ice. He's also registered at Super 32 at 152; can't believe he will be dropping to 145 for the season.
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
Can you give me some head-to-head on Levine?
So if Lump is going 152 - are both Giantonios bumping up to 160 and 170 respectively?
Thank you, Admin

JD Stone should be ranked in front for Bolen and Riggs. He beat Riggs 20-8 in VAWA Freestyle States, and beat Bolen at the VT camp before Super 32
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
Not sure if I will include VT camp in the consideration, but what was the score or result of the match?
Also, one thing to think about, there is purposely no numbers assigned next to the wrestlers at this point. Granted the top 5 are likely representing the top 3 - but it is a loose list at this point.

It looks as if the weight classes were arrived at by assuming that wrestlers would bump up 1 class. That doesn't appear to be the case for some. Really can't tell you about the Giantonios other than there are 3 not 2. As far as Levine's head-to--head; would have to go back to FS & GR states, the Qualifier and Stampede and I think he won the Stampede at 132. I really don't know a lot about the others on your list, just wondering why he hadn't made it on the list.
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
You are correct. The projected weights are bumped by one. This is typically a reasonable methodology in the middle weights. The lower weights and heavier weights are typically harder to gauge.
Like you, I cannot say what direction Dorian and David Giantonio are going to go, but before I bump then both up, I am going to wait for someone that does know.
So let's look at Levine at 132...
2013-14 States: 5th place (120). FS States: 3rd Cadets GR States: DNP Cadets S32 Qualifier: 4th Stampede: 1st
Now let's look at the wrestlers ranked at 132:
132 Bryan Ramey 12 Eastern View 4 132 Nic Campbell 12 Strasburg 2 132 Adam Wilmer 12 Matoaca 5 132 Josh Baier 10 Cave Spring 3 132 Justin Yorkdale 12 Westfield 6 132 Chris Morris 12 Lee-Davis 5 132 Kaleb Tucker 11 Kecoughtan 6 132 Zach Walker 12 Benedictine P 132 Conor Grammes 11 McLean 6
Which of these wrestlers should I put him ahead of? Does he have any head-to-head wins over any of them?
Thank you, Admin

Two wrestlers that stick out to me that are missing are Darber from Jamestown and Roche from Fauquier. Darber is state runner up and Roche was 4th. Both at 126 last season and both freshman. Dont know much about Darber but I believe he was conference and region champ. Roche was conference and Region champ in 4A North. Roche beat Shockey by pin in region finals and majored him at states. Roche also beat Justin Yorkdale at Super States to get 2nd. Not sure what weights they will be this season.

Thank you. This is the kind of result focused feedback I am looking for. I will take a look.

Admin, I did not say or even suggest that Levine should be ahead of any on your list; I simply asked why he was not on your list. You have 9 on your list at 132 and 14 at other weights on your list.
I thought that the forum was for the promotion of conversation and discussion as an above post stated. I simply asked a question for your thoughts not looking for an argument.
**** Noted, adjusted, appreciated.****
"Argument", really? I didn't think for a minute it was an argument. No reason to be so sensitive. It is kind of the nature of public forums, especially ones that involve rankings to debate the merits of the ranked.
I always appreciate discussion and conversation, but as I have mentioned multiple times, please include some facts or evidence to support why you believe what you believe. I have a lot of people that believe one wrestler or another should be on the list, but it is important to know why. Make sense?
Thank you, Admin

Brodie Jones at HWT. Should me considered. He lost to Ty-Kee McCullers 1-0 in the regions.
